(Bvd de la Plaine 9, Brussels) We are pleased to invite You to the annual DIMES seminar in Brussels April 28, 2010. This year the seminar is organised jointly with Meditterrannée Technologies (MT) and European Enterprise Network (EEN). The seminar addresses the topic of Smart Innovation and builds it on the keyplayers of ICT in France and Finland. The framework of the event is in EU cooperative research and business development. The seminar will be held at DIMES premises in Brussels under the title: Franco-Finnish Cooperation for Smart InnovationHow to speed up innovation rising from France and Finland in a smart contextThe event is hybrid in nature. On one hand it collects forerunners and interesting cases on new media: content, services and application developers from both countries. Nokia and Technicolor high-level representatives will give insight to their development policies, approaches to work for the Future Internet PPP funding call to be launched by Commission the coming summer. Furthermore the day demonstrates cooperation success stories between France and Finland, informs about competencies and cooperation facilitators for further nurturing the innovation and business development as a joint effort of the two nations. The morning prior to the seminar is reserved for bilateral meetings of interested companies. For this purpose we ask to fill in the attached form. One the other hand, one of DIMES objectives is to influence strategy work in Commission on behalf of the ICT industry. This has been successful, which can be seen in the increased number of direct contacts, improved awareness and appreciation towards members’ knowhow and skills. However, the cooperation driving DIMES is the motivation and must in a wider context as well. It is imperative to cooperate and ally with most relevant Member States, if significant input to Commission strategies are to be achieved. Now it really is the right time for ”smart” cooperation between Finland and France, as the European innovation needs bigger gears in order to boost the economy into a new rise. Aho Report is a solid basis to start working on, the implementation is now only up to us. France and Finland have features in both common and complementary to each other in terms of their innovation policy, advanced technologies, methodologies to boost research and develop businesses. There is also proof of recent successful cooperative efforts in won EIT ICT KIC to French-Finnish lead clusters. Cooperation between companies can be fruitful also within EU context! The seminar organises a round-table discussion with very high-level representatives on how to fix the innovation mill in Europe. How to ensure research outcome turning into flourishing business? What are the challenges, what could be the remedies? What can be done jointly to raise the game? We wish you to circulate this invitation. You are warmly welcome!
